November 28, 2007 – Phoenix, AZ – US Digital Media, Inc. has officially announced the premier of its new disc repair service for scratched and damaged optical discs. This service is available for a variety of optical media including CDs, DVDs, video games, HD and Blu-ray discs, and more.
Discs that are often handled or transported may become unreadable or "skip" during playback due to scratches and imperfections on the data side of the disc. The US Digital Media process differs from other products and home remedies on the market today because it is a full-contact process. Discs are secured in a special machine that brings them in contact with a precise polishing pad that restores the surface on a microscopic level. A proprietary polishing compound is used to aid in cleaning and reduce friction. Extensive testing has shown the compound to be safe for use with silkscreen, thermal, dye-sublimation and waterproof inkjet discs.
For discs where scratches are a result of poor or inferior packaging, replacement packaging is available on a per-disc basis. This includes paper sleeves, plastic CD cases, and cake boxes. Pricing starts at $34.95 for up to ten discs and additional discs are available on a tiered structure. Free return shipping is included in the cost of repair and upgraded shipping is available by request.
