USDM DVD / CD Labels and case inserts provide the perfect do-it-yourself solution for the professional design and positioning of great looking printed media pieces. These templates are designed for you to easily print your own labels, if you are creating artwork to submit to us for a duplication or replication order please use our Service Artwork Templates.
These templates are to be downloaded from our website for use in various design programs such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, or Corel Draw. Our templates are formatted for basic page layout and graphic standard quality resolution printing. If you do not have one of the above programs, check out our USDM Pro Labeling Software. It is an intuitive program, which can be used to create your labels easily without having knowledge in complicated graphic art programs. Most of our templates are already in the USDM Pro Labeling Software ready to create your art, print, and apply, although some of our newer papers may not be added yet.

| Before You Ask... |
Printing Tips
1. Always allow 1/8” bleed of all background images past all surface edges, as well as keep any valuable text information 1/8” inset from all edges. This allows for any uncontrollable printer shift.
2. Do a test print for color and quality on plain copy paper before using any label stock. This helps to cut down on the number of sheets you may have to throw away if any quality or color issues are off.
3. Always run thicker stocks through your printer at an appropriate setting. For USDM CD / DVD Labels we recommend printing at a label, glossy, or thick setting. For USDM Packaging Inserts we recommend printing at a label, glossy, cardstock or thick setting. You may need to test different settings to get the desired coverage or result best for your artwork and from your printer.

Paper Types*
What paper type do I need? Well, that depends on the type of printer do you have for compatibility, and what look are you going for. Do you want a glossy or matte finish? Do you have an Inkjet or Laser printer?
Most USDM paper stock part numbers include a letter at the end that specifies what the paper stock is, which designates which printers it will work on:
M = Inkjet/Laser Matte
L = Laser Gloss
G = Inkjet Gloss
P = Inkjet Photo Matte

USDM DVD / CD Labels, jewel case inserts and DVD case inserts will print to any laser or inkjet printer. Gloss labels are only recommended for inkjet printers. Laser labels are recommended for laser printers. Matte labels will work on either inkjet or laser printers. All labels stock is quality thickness and can be conveniently loaded into the printer in either direction.
USDM DVD / CD Labels can be applied by using any appropriately sized applicator. Applicators are very easy to use allowing you to apply labels perfectly on your CD or DVD. USDM case inserts have micro-perfed edges that allow for easy removal of excess page edges, and quick insertion into most standard media packaging cases.
If you are unsure of the labels you are going to use, please consult with our Art Department to ensure you are using the proper template.
If you are printing from Microsoft Word you may need to view our instructions on enabling macros to remove the die lines from USDigitalMedia label templates. All of our template downloads also contain a PDF of the instructions. |
