Disc Repair Service FAQ

What is the Disc Repair Service?
This unique service from CDROM2GO allows you to send us your scratched and unreadable discs, we will run them through our disc repair machine, and return them to you good as new!

What makes the Disc Repair Service so special?
This machine is different from others because it uses a mild abrasive pad and secret polishing compound to restore the surface of the disc as if it were new again.

How long does it take to repair a disc?
Just a few minutes in the machine can do wonders for an ailing CD or DVD disc.

Can you repair broken discs?
At this time we do not have any means of repairing discs that have broken or fractured data layers.

Can you repair damage to the top (label) side of the disc?
Discs with top-side damage are not able to be fixed with the Disc Repair Service.

Will it damage my artwork?
Most discs are safe for use in the Disc Repair machine. It has been tested with silkscreen, thermal, PhotoPro, and WaterShield/AquaGuard media.

What kind of discs can I send in?
Just about anything with a standard center hole will work. This includes CD-ROM, CDR/RW, Music CD, DVD-ROM, DVDR/RW, DVD Movies, Game Discs, HD DVD ROM, HD DVD-R/RW, Blu-ray Disc, Blu-ray Recordable/Rewritable.

Do they all have to be the same kind of disc?
Not at all! Any mix of disc types is acceptable (double-sided discs count as two discs).

How many discs can I send in?
We can handle any size disc repair job that you need!

Well, what does it cost?
That depends on how many discs you send us. One to ten discs will cost $34.95 for our repair service, and each additional disc is $2.00.

What kind of packaging options prevent scratched discs?
We offer replacement packaging on a per disc basis that includes DVD cases, CD jewel cases, paper sleeves, poly sleeves or C-shell cases. These cases do an excellent job of protecting discs from damage, especially when distributed through the mail.

How do I get my discs back?
Free ground shipping is included in the price of the disc repair service - no extra charges apply for return shipping. Repaired discs are returned in a cake box.

What's in the secret polishing compound?
That, my friends, is a closely guarded secret.
