Duplication
The duplication process involves taking a pre-made CD or DVD recordable disc (CDR or DVDR) and recording them using a write laser. Information is “burned” onto what are called pits inside the disc. Large duplicators are used to duplicate hundreds of discs quickly and efficiently. The discs are then printed using one of our great print options. See also duplication process.
Duplication Features:
- Quick Turns - CD & DVD duplication service can be completed very quickly in just 3-5 business days. Our Express Service allows for 24-48 hour turn times.
- Printing Options: Photo-Pro, Digital, or Thermal printing. (See our printing options page for more details)
- Lower Volumes - Duplication can be done on smaller volumes (>1,000) and can be done on runs as low as 50.

Replication
The replication process involves actual manufacturing of a CD or DVD (CDROM or DVDROM). First a glass master is created that will serve to create stampers. Stampers or molds are the blueprint for the replication process. They are used to replicate the original master. Quality control procedures and sophisticated equipment ensure 100% quality in the replication process. Once the CDs or DVDs have been produced they are then printed with large-scale silkscreen printing equipment.
Replication Features:
- High Volumes - The replication process is a fully automated manufacturing process produced in replication plants. Since the replication is a manufacturing process it allows for cost efficiencies on higher volumes. Our replication service is a good choice for 1,000 pieces or greater when time is not a major factor.
- Silkscreen or Offset printing - Silkscreen typically has a resolution of 80 lines per inch and is the standard printing process for printing on CDROMs. Offset is a new process for printing on discs and has a resolution of 175 lines per inch. Offset is mostly used in printing amazing photographs on DVDROMs but has become increasingly more popular on CDROMs as well. (See our printing options page for more details)
