Multi-track Audio Compilations with the Accutower 1 to 1 DVD/CD Duplicator

It's Music To Your Ears

Accutower 1 to 1 CD/DVD Duplicator

The following is a response to an inquiry about multi-track audio compilations using an Accutower 1 to 1 DVD/CD duplicator. This question was a good one sent in by a customer who we will call “Howard.” Sure his name is not really “Howard” but the names have been changed to protect the innocent. And since this question comes up so often, it is time to take a moment and set the record straight (get it “record”).

Hey Howard great question,
Let's assume you have 3 Audio CD's you want to copy tracks from.

Disc A = 13 tracks
Disc B = 21 tracks
Disc C = 18 tracks

Now let’s suppose, in this case you want to copy tracks 1-4 from Disc A, tracks 5-8 from Disc B, and tracks 1-7 from Disc C, and put them all on a single audio disc.

Start by following these easy steps:

  1. With the tower on, Load Disc A in the reader drive, and your blank disc into the burner drive.
  2. Go to menu option 3. Copy Track and press enter.
  3. Select your burn speed, (I suggest 24x or 32x and then press enter.)
  4. The tower should wait for the discs and then come up with a list (1 2 3 4 5. . .13 followed by OK) these are the racks on Disc A.
  5. With the up and down arrow keys, highlight track 1 and press enter, you should see the letter a appear above track 1.
  6. Use the arrows to highlight track 2 press enter, you should see the letter b appear above the 2.
  7. Highlight track 3 and press enter, you should see the letter c appear above the 3.
  8. Highlight track 4 and press enter, you should see the letter d appear above the 4.
  9. Use the arrow keys to highlight OK and press enter, the tower will copy tracks 1-4 (in that order because you selected them a-d).
When the duplicator tower is finished burning, Disc A will eject.

Put in Disc B and repeat steps 2 through 9 with tracks 5,6,7, and 8.
When the duplicator tower is finished burning, Disc B will eject.

Put in Disc C and repeat steps 2 through 9 with tracks 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7.
When the duplicator tower is finished burning, Disc C will eject.

NOW HERE IS THE CRITICAL STEP:
Once Disc C ejects, go to menu option 4. Close Disc and press enter. You will see a summary of your disc on the display showing the number of tracks (in our case 15), the total time on the disc, and the free time remaining. The lower right corner will say Go?. Press enter once more. The disc will perform a close and then will eject when it is finished finalizing.

NOTE: You must close the disc before you can play it in a standard CD player.

You can copy the tracks in any order you want, from as many discs as you want, just as long as you don't go over the available space on your blank disc. Most blank CD-R's available will hold 79m:59s of audio. If you want to make more copies of the same disc, just put your newly minted master into the reader drive and go to menu option 1.Copy Disc.

So now you can finally make that Beatles / Boston / Bozz Skaggs compilation disc you always wanted. Have fun making your discs and let me know if you have any other questions, I'm here to help!
